Seal & Go wraps up Cambodia’s market
Seal & Go is a luggage wrapping company, founded 20 years ago and now located in eight countries. They’ve started operations in all three Cambodia Airports in October. Here, the company introduces themselves and shares their plans.
Why do flight passengers need your service? What are the concerns for luggage?
A: We protect passenger luggage from being damaged in transit or from bursting open, from theft or being tampered with for smuggling activities or from getting lost. All this will give passengers peace of mind while traveling.
How are the bags traceable? The app seems to confirm one’s ownership of a bag that’s been found with a QR code, but is there a way to actually track a bag that’s gone missing?
A: Through seal-trace.com, passengers who have lost their luggage need to enter a trace code which is given to the passenger during wrapping. The airport where the luggage mistakenly ends up in will also log onto the same website and insert the same trace code. Our system will then match the trace codes so that the passenger will know which airport the luggage is found in.
While it is not exactly a tracking system (because it depends on the airport to register the lost luggage), it does substantially improve the chance of reuniting the passengers and their lost luggage because airports will likely report any luggage found with our Seal & Trace sticker.
Is there any kind of luggage that cannot be sealed?
A: Our machine can accommodate luggage or items of various sizes, even as big as a 65” TV box or a surfboard.
You’re now available in all three airports in Cambodia. Are you doing anything to celebrate the launch in the airports? Why have you decided to move into this market?
A: For many months we have been focusing on ensuring our outlets will be operational on October 1, 2019 for all three airports in Cambodia. We have yet to plan any formal launching ceremony in Cambodia.
We have chosen to launch in Cambodia because we recognize the country is enjoying positive growth in many sectors, particularly in tourism. Apart from economic reasons, we have also grown an affinity for the wonderful Cambodian people and we feel comfortable and confident with our presence in Cambodia.
