AIRLINE OF THE MONTH
Shenzhen Airlines is linking Phnom Penh to major cities in China’s Pearl River Delta and beyond
The Star Alliance member has been a leader connecting Cambodia to China’s largest cities, boosting tourist as well as business arrivals.

Since becoming the seventh Chinese airline to open a route connecting China’s megacities to Phnom Penh, Shenzhen Airlines has taken the lead in linking the capital to the Pearl River Delta – Asia’s economic powerhouse.
The Star Alliance member also plans to expand links to other cities in China, paving the way for an even greater increase in tourist arrivals and business investment in Cambodia. It has served more than 71,000 passengers, including more than 28,000 from Guangzhou, since its debut in Cambodia.
Highly regarded for its business-class service, Shenzhen Airlines began with daily flights between Phnom Penh and Shenzhen on December 20 last year. The carrier – which flies to 80 destinations in Asia and has eight operational hubs throughout China – doubled the number of flights between the two cities this month. Daily flights between Phnom Penh and Guangzhou commenced on January 20. That number will double from June 1, while a new route between Phnom Penh and Fujian province’s Quanzhou city will be inaugurated on June 10.
“The importance of the high-quality flights between China and Cambodia introduced by Shenzhen Airlines and other carriers cannot be overstated,” said Eric Delobel, CEO of Cambodia Airports.
“We have been very strategic in facilitating the opening of new routes and increased flights to help propel the development of Cambodia’s tourism industry and economy. Carriers like Shenzhen Airlines are playing a vital role in accelerating Cambodia’s development,” Mr. Delobel explained.
