Lanmei Airlines celebrates a triumphant first year
The locally-founded carrier has expanded its service to more than 20 cities in its first year of operations.
Lanmei Airlines encourages all of its passengers to “be unique”. As a Cambodian-founded airline sponsored by Chinese investment, its name is a representation of its hybrid nature: short for Lancang-Mekong, the name “Lanmei” incorporates both the Chinese and Khmer names of the same river that flows through each country.
Founded in the Kingdom last year, Lanmei Airlines commemorated its inaugural flight on October 12, 2017, flying from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap and then continuing on to carry its passengers to the glittering city of Macau.
In the past year, Lanmei has celebrated significant success as it has maintained consistent service between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, expanded its flight paths to include over 20 destinations, and carried more than 350,000 passengers.
Lanmei passengers at Phnom Penh International can now fly to four different countries, with direct services from the capital to Hong Kong, Bangkok, Guangzhou and Hanoi. For those flying out of Siem Reap, direct flights are now on offer to the Chinese cities of Changsha and Geylang. Tickets can be purchased on their website, where promotions and special offers are often displayed.
