Encouraging tourism growth, one event at a time
The annual Cambodia Travel Mart, held this past month, drew hundreds to the capital.
Cambodia’s tourism industry has been growing at a rapid pace: the Kingdom welcomed nearly 6 million tourists in 2017, and has this year already beaten last year’s record.
With the Kingdom’s sights set on receiving 15 million tourists a year by 2030, events such as the annual Cambodia Travel Mart (CTM) are now more important than ever for driving future growth. The second edition of CTM, held in Phnom Penh from October 11 to 13, attracted more than 110 potential investors and 170 locally-operating businesses this year.
As a proud supporter of the Kingdom’s tourism industry and events, Cambodia Airports hosted a Welcome gala dinner for all CTM registered delegates at the Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, greeting more than 500 guests.
Cambodia Airports has long worked hand in hand with the Ministry of Tourism to help expand and encourage travel to the Kingdom. Toward this end, the Airports and ministry officials joined together at the CTM to share information about Cambodia’s rich tourism opportunities with event attendees.
